The combined Lion and Thunder titles, UK boys’ adventure comics. Always fond of The Steel Commando and The Spider, myself, and I’d take a bullet for Robot Archie.

British boys’ adventure comics share more DNA with Golden Age American comics than anything else - sardonic, grim, violent, and wry. They’re absurd without being silly, serious without seeming self-important. Plus, the craftsmanship far exceeds the medium. I love these books, comics without “feels” - I do wish they’d start collecting the individual strips in nice, thick hardcover volumes.
